WAXING INFO

  • Your hair should be grown out at least 3 weeks for any part of your body prior to your appointment.

  • Exfoliate prior to your appointment to improve the chances of a thorough waxing.

  • Avoid coffee and other stimulants 6-8 hours prior to waxing as these items can increase sensitivity and discomfort.

  • If you are pregnant or on your menstrual cycle, you may be more sensitive.

  • Wait at least 5 days after your appointment before using a loofah mitt or body scrub.

  • Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, hot water, steam, sauna, or jacuzzi for at least 24-48 hours.

  • If you experience inflamed ingrown hairs, apply hot Epsom salt compresses for 10-20 minutes and remove the hair with tweezers. Do not pick!

  • Use a lotion or cream daily to moisturize and recondition your skin.

  • All hairs in an area are in a different stage of growth. Therefore, it may take as many as 3 waxing sessions to synchronize  the growth cycles. Please resist the urge to shave in between your regular appointments.

  • Do not be disappointed if you notice some new hair growth soon after waxing. These are simply hairs that were still below the skins surface or very short during waxing.

With regular waxing, hair will grow back softer and sparser!

  • DO NOT wax if you are taking medications for acne, using Retin-A, Renova, Glycolic Acid, or Alpha Hydroxy Acids. These drugs can cause hypersensitivity and several layers of skin to lift with the removal of the wax, placing you at risk of scarring or infection.

  • DO NOT wax if you had a Botox injection or Dermabrasion within the past 72 hours.

Please inform your esthetician of any health conditions.
